The Child Safeguarding Policy Guide for Churches and Ministries

safeguarding policyIt is sad that a book like “The Child Safeguarding Policy Guide for Churches and Ministries” had to be written.  Unfortunately, child abuse has become an issue for churches and ministries that serve children.  Churches and other faith communities need to make sure that their facilities are safe for children and that volunteers and staff are thoroughly checked and trained.

The guide, written by Basyle Tchividijan and Shira M. Berovits, is a comprehensive A-Z guide for church staff.  It describes people who sexually abuse children, how to screen volunteers, reporting guidelines and it also includes many sample forms to use.

Every church and faith-based ministry needs to have this book in their library.  It needs to be read and used so that our children and youth can be protected and members and guests can feel comfortable leaving their children in the care of ministry workers and volunteers.
