Women who shaped Christianity’s rebirth

reformation women“Reformation Women” contains stories of 12 women who were instrumental in rebirthing Christianity.  These little-known women, such as Anna Reinhard, wife of Ulrich Zwingli, have lived lives that have a lot to teach us about selfless service and godly living.  All of the women represented by Rebecca VanDoodewaard experienced persecution from the Roman Catholic Church as well as the betrayal of friends and even family.

Reading about these brave women made me appreciate even more the freedom I have to worship.  These brave heroines of the faith gave their lives for what they believed in order that those who came after them would be free in Christ.

Just as Foxe’s “Book of Martyrs” is important in the lives of believers, so are the stories of these women who stood up to the tyranny of the Roman Catholic Church and gave their lives to serve God.  VanDoodewaard’s collection of stories will inspire and challenge you in your Christian walk.
