The Good Book offers a user-friendly guide to the Bible’s biggest ideas.

good book “The Good Book” by Deron Spoo presents the forty biggest ideas of the bible and unlocks the Bible’s major themes.  Spoo makes the Bible come alive for those who may be intimidated by the length of the Bible.

In addition to including the text of the 40 major chapters of the Bible, Spoo gives a short commentary and a “for reflection” section that helps with application.

While I enjoyed reading Spoo’s selections and believe people will gain insight into God’s Word, I am hoping that this will lead people to read more the Bible rather than depending on this one book to satisfy their hunger for God’s Word.  I believe, for the most part, that people will open up to the wonder of reading the Bible for themselves and be encouraged to delve deeper into it as a result of Spoo’s work.  It is an excellent resource for small groups, including questions for discussion.
