Overcome your giants and live a fruitful life

beanstalkWe live in a world of giant problems–giant barriers to peaceful, fruitful lives.  Lori Stanley Roeleveld explores 2 Peter 1 in “Jesus and the Beanstalk” and gives us eight small secrets to unleash our faith and overcome the obstacles in our life.

The first part introduces the pathway to fruitful Christian living as described in 2 Peter 1:1-10 and discusses how “Jack and the Beanstalk” can help us apply this passage to our life.  The second part teaches us hot to cultivate attitudes and expectations leading to spiritual growth.  The third, and final part, includes a seven-week study that helps us cling to the Vine.

At the end of each chapter, Roeleveld gives us “Small Steps Toward Slaying Giants” and “One Stone for Your Sling” which help apply what we have learned.

Roeleveld has given us a creative and unique way to look at spiritual growth and connecting with the Vine–Jesus.  This is a great small group study as it lends itself to great discussion.  The questions and the “Small Steps” encourage spiritual growth and help us maintain our relationship with God.
