Prayer strategies for the Middle East

ISISLorraine Marie Varela addresses the question “What can be done in the face of the evil of ISIS?” in her book “Love in the Face of ISIS”.  She introduces seven prayer strategies that we can use to effect God’s power in the midst of violence in the Middle East caused at the hands of ISIS.

Current events in our nation and the world indicate that the only solution is prayer.  We have two choices:  we can live our lives in fear as we see more and more violence, or we can pray for supernatural intervention and the transformation of evil to good and live our lives in peace knowing that God has everything under His control.

Varela teaches us how to pray for the Middle East asking for God’s presence to be revealed, His armies, His provision, His healing and peace.  Each chapter shares testimonies of God’s faithfulness and supernatural intervention.  She has included “Pauses for Prayer” at different intervals throughout the book and at the end of each chapter. These prayers are excellent guides to follow in getting us started in praying for the Middle East and the threat of ISIS.
