Get rid of sugar and improve your health

Calbom gives an explanation of why and how sugar is bad for you. “Sugar Knockout” includes a sugar shopping guide, a ten-step sugar detox plan, what to expect and tips on handling sugar withdrawal.  There are many recipes included, and I was surprised by how many she included.  There is also a sample menu plan.

If you have considered a sugar-free diet or have been directed by a physician to remove sugar from your diet, Calbom’s book will give you information and tips on how to get started.  Be forewarned, though, it is not a weaning process.  When you start, you give up all sugar at once.  She recommends Stevia as a sugar substitute and includes it in most of her recipes.
