“If you exist, save me…”

DestinyRiki Hammad had never known freedom.  When she escapes captivity and lands on a mysterious island with four college students on vacation, she must face her fear and find a power great enough to overthrow darkness.  Riki struggles to cope with her world outside of slavery while trying to understand and trust the four boys who are trying to help her.

“Destiny Defied” by J.A. Marx is the first book in the Destiny series and is a supernatural suspense novel.  I struggled to finish reading it because it was confusing and unclear as to what was really happening at the beginning of the story.  If you do not enjoy supernatural fiction, you will not appreciate this book.  Even if you do, you may find this book very difficult to find any interest in the story or the characters.
