Marriage is messy but it can be beautiful

messy loveMarriage is messy because it involves two people who have different ideas living in a world that tells us that we can just discard a marriage that isn’t making us happy or doesn’t fulfill us.  “Messy Beautiful Love” written by Darlene Schacht tells the story of a marriage that’s messy but redeemed by grace.  Schacht opens up her messy marriage and reveals an incredible testimony of grace demonstrating that we can tune out the world and experience a beautiful marriage.

It is encouraging to read a book on marriage by someone who doesn’t offer psychological solutions or preach about how to have a good marriage.  Instead, she opens up about her marriage struggles and shows that even marriages the world says won’t or shouldn’t last, can withstand the temptations and mistakes if we tune out the world and tune into God and are obedient to His Word.  By surrendering our relationship to God, we can experience marriage the way God intended.
