An original take on a teen’s journey through middle school

diva diaries“The (Desperate) Diva Diaries” is a cute book in diary form about a young girl’s journey through middle school.  Instead of the sketch books she requested, Catie’s dad gives her diaries.  Even though she complains, she begins to write about her struggles, her dreams, her successes and failures.  Her dream of becoming a fashion designer hangs in the balance when her dad insists that the family go on a mission trip for spring break.

From her brother’s unusual pet skunk to the aggravating popular girl in her class, Catie finds lots of things to write about and lots to learn about how God works.  A good, Christian message is tucked inside an adolescent story young girls will love to read.  They will love the illustrations.  I highly recommend for all young ladies in 5th through 8th grade.  My 3rd grader is reading it and is really enjoying it.
