Most people believe they have a “what”. Some are born knowing what their “what” is, but for anyone who struggles to find that one amazing thing they were born to do, Steve Olsher has written a book called “What Is Your What?”
The book is divided into four parts. The first part lays the foundation which discusses the stages of learning. The second part goes through seven Life-Altering Principles. The third part involves the work of identifying your what and becoming who you were created to be. This book involves thought and work. It may take some time to work through it, but you will reap rewards if you settle in and do the work. You will have to dig deep and look into your past. The question is do you want to. I’m not sure Olsher’s book is worth the effort. It’s work just to read it.
If you are looking for a book that will lay out your life plan for you, this is not the book for you. However, if you are willing to put forth some effort, your reward might be finding your “what”. The book gives many examples of people who found their niche in the world and did great things. It’s not likely you will find a what that will catapult you to fame and fortune. It’s not clear that finding your what will lead you to a different career even if you had the desire to do so. The fact of the matter is that Olsher wants you to believe that finding your “what” will make your life better. I’m not convinced you should be looking for a “what”.
