‘The Widower’ is great story of overcoming guilt and grief through love

The WidowerAfter his wife, Leah, dies in a fatal accident, Jacob McKinley is overwrought with guilt and grief.   Returning to normal life would not have been possible if not for the help of his father-in-law, Bill Foster, who wrapped Jacob in the love of God and showed him that God is a forgiving and loving God.   After Leah’s funeral, Jacob takes some time off from the law firm he “inherited” from his father until his partners could no longer handle his absence.

If it weren’t for Bill, he would have given up completely.  Even through his own grief over the loss of his daughter, Bill brought Jacob back into the land of the living.  He introduced him to Kip, a young boy who was facing death if he did not receive a kidney transplant.  Once it was determined that Jacob was a match for Kip and he decided to donate one of his kidneys to Kip, Jacob’s life began to have meaning again.

“The Widower” by Ryan LaForge is about a man overcome with guilt who finds forgiveness through a gift of love–his gift of life to a boy whose outlook was grim without it.  It is a story of how a man learns from his mistakes and finds love again and discovers that God can and does perform miracles today.
