‘Answers for the 4A Epidemic’

Joseph Cannizzaro, MD, has practiced pediatric medicine for 30 years specializing in holistic integrative pediatrics, nutrition, and preventative medicine.  In his new book, “Answers for the 4A Epidemic,” he helps readers understand the epidemic of Autism, ADHD, Asthma and Allergies.  Alarming statistics show that these conditions are increasing each year and the search for answers can be overwhelming.

Cannizzaro’s book is an excellent resource and useful for parents of children with any or all of these conditions.  Cannizzaro also believes that these four conditions often go together as children with one of these conditions will often have two or all of them.   The book is divided into three sections with the first discussing the statistics and how they began followed by a description of each condition and ending with healing therapies including nutrition, supplementation therapy, detoxification, medication and other alternative therapies.

The appendices list a variety of resources recommended for further research.  Cannizzaro empowers parents to make important decisions regarding the care and treatment of their children.   He doesn’t take away from your doctor’s advice but gives parents some alternatives to discuss with their doctors.  He doesn’t recommend any course of action without consulting a physician.

If your child has been diagnosed with Autism, ADHD, Asthma or Allergies, this is an excellent resource if only for the appendices in the back of the book.   I was skeptical about what this book would offer; however, I am convinced that Cannizzaro really is an advocate for children.
