Review of Jesus Lives by Sarah Young

If you haven’t chosen your 2010 devotional book, I would highly recommend this one.  It is the companion to “Jesus Calling” which I haven’t read, but I will definitely put it on my reading list for next year.

This devotional is not your typical devotional with a particular day to read.  Instead, you can choose which topic God draws you to at any given time.  At the beginning of the book, there is an index of themes and the page numbers where they can be found.  It will also be a good reference for you to come back to again and again.

The book, written by Sarah Young, is written as if Christ is speaking to you.  Young wrote as she listened to what Christ spoke to her.  It is different from any devotional I’ve ever read.  If you want a book that helps you feel the love of Christ, this is it.  Christ’s love for you shines through on each page as the author shows you His heart regarding your adversity, sorrow, and fear as well as how to become more intimate with your Savior and what to do in times of trial.

I know you won’t go without a blessing if you choose this book for yourself or won’t give a blessing away if you choose to give this book as a gift.

DISCLAIMER: I am a book reviewer for Thomas Nelson Publisher and received this book for free in exchange for this review.
